KING OF PRUSSIA, PA., Mar. 9, 2019 – At Attention Dog Training®, King of Prussia's Force-Free dog training company, today announced that CEO and U.S. Army veteran David Shade will be the featured guest speaker at the No Dog Gets Left Behind Annual Spring Fling. No Dog Gets Left Behind is a Philadelphia charity and non-profit organization that provides financial support to reunite soldiers with stray dogs they bonded with while at war and deployed inside combat zones.
Mr. Shade, who served for four years as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division, will be speaking about the role dogs played in his transition to civilian life, his journey to become a dog trainer, and At Attention Dog Training’s commitment to force-free, fear-free, and pain-free, positive reinforcement-based training methods.
“After serving my tour oversees in Afghanistan, I was trying to recover from both physical and mental trauma. Getting my first dog was truly a life-changing and life-saving decision,” said Mr. Shade. “The unconditional love and companionship of a dog can provide soldiers across the country with comfort and relief as they readjust to life after combat and recover from PTSD. I hope in turn to save as many dogs’ lives as I can, by supporting the work of organizations such as No Dog Gets Left Behind, and by keeping dogs in happy homes through promoting and educating dog-owners on force-free training methods.”
The Annual Spring Fling will take place on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Penns Landing Caterers from 7:00-11:00 p.m. ET. Proceeds from the event will help No Dog Gets Left Behind provide the financial support required – around $5,000 per pet – to reunite combat veterans with the stray dogs they bonded with while deployed.
