I just finished my in home training with Vania and she was amazing! I was hesitant to start training again because my puppy had been bitten by another dog while in the care of someone else. Immediately, Vania made me feel comfortable, and I knew she would be a good fit my Pomerania puppy Cleo and I.
Cleo loved Vania. She really cared and wanted to help with the issues I was having with my puppy. Our 5 sessions went so fast, but Vania helped teach me so many things I didn’t notice about my puppy's behavior so I could understand my dog better!
Eden and Millie
My boyfriend and I recently finished up our 5 session package with Alicia, and it’s truly amazing how much progress our dog Millie has made! Not only did Alicia directly address Millie’s reactivity and pulling on the leash, but she also provided my boyfriend and I with a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of our dog and her needs. Throughout our training sessions with Alicia, it was amazing to see how much more confident and capable Millie became. At Attention’s approach really makes training an opportunity to bond with and connect with your dog rather than just a means to an end, and we are so grateful to Alicia for showing us how rewarding training can be for everyone involved. We could not have asked for a better experience with training and we HIGHLY recommend Alicia!

My husband and I have two dogs, a 1.5 year old German shepherd (female) and a 1 year old bloodhound (male). They are both very energetic and still babies. We struggled to get them to listen and getting them calm when people would come over. They love each other and exist really well together but we were REALLY struggling with our German Shepherd resource guarding and over correcting our Bloodhound. Occasionally the resource guarding would result in a fight. (Thankfully it never got to the point of injury) but I found myself super anxious and not confident with my own dogs. I felt completely lost on how to help them. We have been in search for a dog trainer for a while now. We tried other trainers but we never saw results from them or learned the tools to help them. We knew our dogs needed help and we needed to learn how to help them. We came across at attention dog training on google and put in an inquiry. They had great reviews and I really loved that they did in home training since that is the place where our dogs are most comfortable being themselves and we could really pin point the issues. I have to say it was the BEST decision we ever made. Lesley is absolutely amazing!! She helped us tremendously! I love their no fear techniques. Lesley showed us such an easy way to redirect them when people come in the house and to get them calm so there isn’t over excitement. It takes consistency and dedication but I have seen our dogs thrive since getting trained from Lesley. I am even able to get them inside the first time I call them! Our German Shepherd has learned she doesn’t always have to correct our bloodhound. And we were able to learn what to look for to avoid resource guarding and fights. I feel 100X more confident and at ease with my dogs. Lesley not only taught our dogs but she taught us to be a better dog mom and dad! I am forever grateful and we will be continuing training sessions in the future to help our dogs grow even more. Thank you so much for helping us with Oakley and Scotty!!
Carolyn and Duncan
We rescued our Lab/Bull Terrier mix Duncan when he was about a year and a half old. He was a pandemic pup who wasn't properly socialized from their original owners who ended up surrendering him to MLAR. He was highly dog reactive and needed a refresher on the basics. We worked with Alicia from AADT and gave us step-by-step lessons on how to help with reactivity as well as build trust with our dog. She left us with homework that we felt confident we could do. Now Duncan is able to pass most dogs without any reaction! It takes time and a lot of work but we wouldn't have gotten to this point without Alicia.

"My husband and I, along with our 2 pups Daisy and Fletcher, cannot say enough in praise of Vania Gollatz and her training skills. She was warm and friendly while maintaining professionalism at all times. Vania was punctual and prepared for each session. Her approach was supportive and kind but she was also comfortable giving clear direction to Jim and I while we practiced the training techniques. She is a natural teacher. She listened well and translated our concerns into a concrete protocol each time we met with her. She also provided us with links to helpful resources that educated us beyond our sessions together. Best of all, our dogs absolutely adored her and would cry when she left our home. We will definitely call upon Vania again as we progress in our training journey with our dogs."

I honestly am blown away with the positive and long lasting experience we had with At Attention Dog Training. After several unsuccessful attempts with other trainers and recommendations of medication for my 8 y.o. King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, I contacted you for help with Lady’s aggression. From the start I was hooked, my husband, well he is a skeptic and wanted to see if the results would last. Well they have, we are almost a year past your training of our household and all I can say is thank you! Lady has a history of medical issues and pain but she also had a history of aggression. Who would think that a 22 lb fur ball could be aggressive? what were we doing wrong? She had attacked or aggressively warned her two fur brothers, myself, my husband and our friends. It got to the point where we were nervous to leave her with a sitter for an extended period of time in fear that she would bite them.
6 weeks of training at our home ( once a week with homework) was all it took. Ms. Lesley taught us that we were not in tune with Lady’s communication. We learned that Lady works best with choices, with positive reinforcement and with space. Although she is a lap dog, she needs to have her space. Instead of walking over to her and sitting with her on the couch to offer petting, I have learned to wait for Lady to come over to me and initiate, on her terms, her space. Well, such a small act but, huge results. I used to sit next to her petting and she would be fine ( so I thought) and then all of a sudden growl quick and nip at me. Lady was very food aggressive, she would come after whoever fed her or went near her bowl, well after doing exercises to gain her trust, ( and our confidence) she is now fine with whoever feeds her and has no problem with anyone in her area of eating. She used to steal items and it was horrible to get her to offer the item up, she would growl, snarl, bite and drool. Now we give her choices and she gladly responds to “touch” leading her away from the item and on to a better choice. We called out of desperation but, we learned how to better read her signals, and how to communicate effectively with her. We are forever grateful, that our baby girl is back to her pleasant self!!
Thank you again,
Allison, Paul, Lady, Oliver and Henry

The team @ At Attention Dog Training are incredible, not only with their knowledge but also their versatility. The team always has an answer to your questions and the research to back it up. After just 5 sessions not only has my dog made leaps and bounds in her training but my own knowledge as a pet owner has increased as well. At Attention Dog Training provides you with the tools to succeed, plain and simple. We can’t thank Dave, Lesley & the AADT team enough for all they’ve done to help us!
Natalie and Midas
We LOVED AADT! I brought my 8 week old Puppy, Midas to AADT. He is a German Shorthaired Pointer with a TON of energy. Lesley came to our home and was filled with so much knowledge that you can't get from the internet. After finishing the 6 week course, our WILD-ENERGETIC-CRAZY 14 week Puppy is fully potty trained, knows basic commands and is much better understood! Lesley and her staff were so helpful along the way with any questions I had too. I HIGHLY recommend Lesley!!
Brielle, Zac & Rosie
I honestly cannot say enough amazing things about At Attention Dog Training. We have a 90 lb female Doberman, Rosie, who is fearful of strangers (people-especially males and dogs). Walking her or taking her anywhere was a nightmare and I was always so anxious. She would bark, lunge, her hair would go up and it was scary! I knew we needed help since she is such a big and strong dog, I worried I wouldn’t be able to hold her when I walked her. I honestly thought that she would just be a dog who can’t be around other people or be in different environments. Beside from her being fearful, she is very obedient and loyal. We have worked with A LOT of dog trainers and she was in training since she was a puppy. Unfortunately, she had some traumatic experiences (being attacked by off leash dogs) which added to her fearfulness, but none of the previous dog trainers had ever mentioned her red flag behaviors and how we might want to look into a private dog trainer- until we met Dave.

We had such a great experience during our one-on-one training series with Trainer Lesley! We accomplished exactly what we set out to do and Lesley broke it down for us to make all of our desired behaviors very easy to practice and master. We were even able to let our girl off leash during a doggie play date at an open park and were so pleased to be able to successfully utilize the recall skills that we learned and practiced! We highly recommend At Attention for dog training!
