Staying Home More…because of Coronavirus?
Follow these tips to keep your dog on track:
Create A New Routine! Dogs are creatures of habit and so it’s important to create a new routine that you and your dog can stick to. Maybe it’s an early morning walk, breakfast at a certain time and an afternoon play session! Staying on track with a routine will make it easier for you and your dog when you do go back to work outside of the home!
Separation Behaviors like Separation Distress and Separation Anxiety can be very stressful for your dog so avoid this problem before it starts. If your dog already suffers from separation behaviors, we can help with our new Separation Anxiety Rescue program!
Give Your Dog A Job! Dogs who are bored and “unemployed” will find a job for themselves. The thing is, we usually don’t agree with their choice of “employment”. For example, your dog might steal your socks and look to play a game of chase!
We’ve got lots of enrichment ideas/boredom busters to help you find simple, easy ways to safely employ your dog; see more information below!
Give Your Dog A Break! Dogs need downtime to rest throughout the day. If everyone is home now, this may disrupt their normal sleep patterns and deprive them of their time to recharge.
Spend Time Training With Your Dog! Let’s work together to help your dog be the best co-worker they can be! Training provides mental enrichment and stimulation for your dog, creates and builds a bond/ trust and can prevent future behavior issues.
